Using BIOS/UEFI to know CPU temperature

The first method that can be used to know the CPU temperature in Windows 11 is to use the system’s UEFI menu, which is often called BIOS. This menu shows various information about your system such as processor temperature. Note that this method has a slight drawback. Also, this method shows your CPU temperature when Windows is not loaded yet. That is, if you want to know if a certain program or game is causing your CPU to heat up, you cannot check the problem with this method. Also, not all BIOS menus provide CPU temperature, so depending on what system you’re using, you may or may not find CPU temperature information in the BIOS menus.

To do this method, open your Windows 11 settings by pressing the Windows+I key combination. From the left sidebar, select System. Then on the right side, click on Recovery.

Using the Core Temp program to measure the CPU temperature

The Core Temp program is a free program that allows you to view your CPU temperature both from the main page of the program and from the system tray. Also, this program shows the temperature of each CPU core, which can be useful in some cases. To use this program, you must first go to the Core Temp website. Download this program and install it on your system. During installation, be sure to uncheck the Build Your Kingdom option.

Open Hardware Monitor is another free program that you can use to view the CPU temperature of your system. The program also displays other useful information such as the temperature of the hard disk or SSD drive. To use this program, go to the Open Hardware Monitor website. Download the program and unzip the file. Then right-click on OpenHardwareMonitor.exe. Now select the Run as Administrator option.
